Eighth podium of the season for the Dynojet Team at Oulton Park

On the back of the triple podium at Donington Park two weeks ago, the Dynojet Team headed to the spectacular undulating circuit at Oulton Park in Cheshire, full of optimism, in anticipation of producing some of the most thrilling racing so far this season.  Last year a record crowd of 35,000 fans turned out for this event, and more were expected this year.

QUALIFYING
Friday's practice session had highlighted some set-up issues with the Dynojet car. Shortage of track time and data resulted in the Team trying out new and unproven settings for qualifying. Frank put the Dynojet car on the second row of the grid in 4th spot for both races during Saturday's 20 minute qualifying period, in a better handling car.
Frank: 'We had set-up problems throughout practice and limited track time, which was frustrating going into qualifying with an unproven set-up. The handling had improved considerably and I'm happy to start from the second row of the grid.'

RACE 1
The 15 lap encounter started as Frank bolted off the line and nestled into third behind Breeze and Freke. By lap 6 Frank had made a move on Breeze at Old Hall, as he made slight mistake, upto second in the order. Frank's race pace quickened as the race progressed, but he couldn't make the pass on Freke and settled for a safe second and 30 more championship points.
Frank: 'Even though Oulton Park is our local circuit, it's always been a bogie track or me. After starting the weekend badly it feels incredible, not only to finish second but to have such good pace and come close to winning.'

RACE 2
Another cracking start from Frank produced an immediate move up the order ahead of Chris Dittman into third. Heading into lap two, Frank produced a good pass, in the Dynojet car, up the inside of Breeze at Old Hall to grab second place but as Breeze' s car ran wide onto the grass on the exit, it spun back onto the track and came to a halt in the middle of the circuit. Although the cars closest behind luckily avoided making contact, Mark Proctor was unsighted and the resulting impact was unavoidable. Thankfully both drivers had only minor injuries, but the race was abandoned, and will be re-run later in the championship schedule.
