UK Emissions Compliance Disclaimer

Dynojet UK supplies aftermarket performance products that may alter a vehicle’s emissions output. These products are designed and manufactured by Dynojet Research Inc. in the United States and may carry emissions data or approvals recognised by U.S. regulatory bodies such as the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the California Air Resources Board (CARB). These U.S. certifications do not constitute approval under UK or European emissions regulations.

UK & EU Emissions Regulations

In the United Kingdom, emissions‑related vehicle modifications are regulated under:

  • The Road Vehicles (Construction and Use) Regulations 1986
  • The Road Traffic Act 1988
  • MOT emissions standards
  • Retained EU Regulation (EC) No. 715/2007 (Euro emissions standards)

Under these laws, it is an offence to modify, bypass, remove, or render inoperative any emissions‑control system on a road‑going vehicle. Any modification that affects emissions may result in MOT failure, enforcement action, or loss of road‑legal status.

Product‑Specific Emissions Warnings

Fuel Controllers (e.g., Power Commander, PCFC)

Fuel controllers adjust fueling, and other engine parameters. These changes can directly affect emissions output and may cause the vehicle to fall outside UK road‑legal requirements. Unless independently tested and certified, these products may be restricted to off‑road, race, or track use only. The Piggyback Fuel Controller solutions we supply do not effect the emissions‑control systems of your vehicle, unless paired with a O₂ Sensor eliminator or controller that is for off road use only.

ECU Flash Tools / Tuning Devices (e.g., Power Vision, PV3, PV4)

ECU flash tools can modify ignition timing, throttle behaviour, torque limits, emissions‑control strategies, and other regulated engine functions. Such changes may make the vehicle non‑compliant with UK emissions regulations. These products should not be represented as road‑legal unless the vehicle has undergone appropriate emissions testing. The standard ECU Tune files that Dynojet UK supply do not effect the emissions‑control systems of your vehicle.

O₂ Sensor Modules / Lambda Manipulation Devices

O₂ sensor modules alter or bypass factory lambda sensor behaviour, which can directly influence emissions output. These products are not road‑legal in the UK unless independently verified and approved. Use on public roads may violate emissions‑control laws. Dynojet UK markets these products for off road use only.

Customer & Installer Responsibility

  • EPA/CARB approvals do not imply UK road‑legal status.
  • It is the responsibility of the installer and end user to ensure the vehicle remains compliant with UK emissions laws after any modification.
  • Products that alter emissions may be for closed‑course competition use only unless proven otherwise.
  • Dynojet UK does not guarantee MOT compliance or road‑legal status following installation of any emissions‑related product.

By purchasing or installing Dynojet products in the UK, the customer acknowledges and accepts responsibility for ensuring legal use of the vehicle after modification.
